Eravikulam National Park

This park is one of the major attractions for a tourist as it is the home to endangered inhabitants known as Nilgiri Tahr. You will find that this park is the place where you can go for trekking experiencing and enjoy the beautiful views of the extensive tea plantations and the hills which are rolled by the mists. Also, Anamudi Peak is located inside this park. The park offers a romantic and an overwhelming view.

Tea Museum

A few years ago, Tata tea had opened a museum in Munnar to maintain the legacy and evolution of burgeoning tea plantations. You will see that the museum contains the pictures, stories and machineries regarding the evolution and growth of the tea plantations.

Lakkam Waterfall

Munnar also attracts tourists due to a very small waterfall known as Lakkam Waterfall. Further, it has many natural waterfalls which are a good place for photography for the tourists.

Marayoor

Marayoor is a place having natural and fresh sandalwood trees, huge caves having murals, children’s park under a distinct Banyan tree and a sandalwood factory- all of these fascinate tourists in great amounts.

Kundala Lake

Visit the beautiful Kundala Lake, which is situated twenty three km from Munnar. You can hire a pedal boat and explore the lake which provides an enchanting experience as the lake is surrounded by jungles and scenic beauty. The total exploration of the lake takes around thirty mintues only.

Top Station

It is situated thirty seven km away from Munnar on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala and is one the “top” tourist destination. This place is highly feasible to visit as the regular buses move from Munnar to the top station. It provides a great view of the beautiful Western Ghats. You can hire a jeep that usually costs around Rs 400. This area is also famous for the violent Neelakurunji plant which flowers here only once in every twelve years.

How to Reach Air

Cochin International Airport is 107 km away via Aluva. Munnar can also be reached from Madurai International airport which is 140 km away from here.

Being a prime tourist destination of South India, Munnar is well connected from all South Indian cities as well as other tourist destinations. Munnar also has the main bus station located in the Main Bazaar. Buses are also available from Pollachi and Coimbatore.

How to Reach Rail

The railway stations from which Munnar can be reached are Aluva station which is about 114 km away and the other is Angamali.From there one has to take public transportation or taxi toreach Munnar
